Magisterial organ works, close-mic'd undergrowth and barren art-rock provide the stark back drop for Matt Finney's harrowing croaks and near poetics describing a life lived the wrong ways. On this new collaborative album between Oleg Shpudeiko's 'Heinali' project and Finney following 2017’s ‘How We Lived’ we return to a deeply emotive but changed place. The same flattened land and bleary eyed joy. It’s often beautiful and truly considered album which grows through listening, it's layers un-peeling to form still lives of rotten fruit.
